Resource Sharing Section of CLA

October, 2, 2009: Meeting Notes

Present:

Karen Carey, Steve Cauffman, and William Sullivan (in person at the Middletown Library Service Center) Jill Adams, Kim Farrington, and Carol Kubala (on a conference call/speaker phone)

Notes:

The meeting began at 10 a.m.

Steve attended CLA Executive Board meetings in June, August, and September, but was unable to attend the October meeting. The CLA budget is extremely tight this year. Planning for the annual conference continues and Carol Kubala noted that the dates for it are April 19 and 20 at the Mohegan Sun.

We are going to propose two sessions for the Annual Conference. One session would be on delivery with a panel of speakers. Steve is going to work on getting speakers for that session. Another session would be a ‘drop-in’ format in which people could stop by and discuss reQuest issues with Steve or policy and workflow issues with at least a couple of ILL mentors.

We further refined a draft of the section’s by-laws. The latest draft is at http://clarss.pbworks.com. [This website is only open to section members at the current time, so if you are a Resource Sharing Section member, please contact Steve (Scauffman@cslib.org) for access.] Steve sent the latest draft to Sandy Rosado of the CLA Procedures Committee for her input and unofficial approval.

We decided to meet again (either in person or via a conference call) at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 16 or October 23 to finalize the by-laws and to further plan for the spring conference.

The meeting ended at 11:05 a.m.
